Flooid fast-tracks collaboration in new home

New EMEA HQ a hit with employees

Flooid has now officially opened its new HQ – and our employees are seriously impressed.

Welcome week saw scores of Flooid as well as Glory associates get their first chance to see the new workplace.

And the verdict was unanimous – they love working in the new space!

We opened our new HQ in Ingenuity House in mid-May, following a two-year process which saw the iconic building selected from a shortlist of fifteen properties.

Flooid’s leadership chose Ingenuity House because of its incredible proximity to Birmingham International Airport, impressive road and rail transport connections, plus its light, airy environment and modern workplace design, which encourages innovation and collaboration.

The new office has been kitted out with leading retail hardware and software solutions provided by Flooid, Glory, Acrelec and other partners. It includes breakout space for collaboration, a high-tech quality lab, smart hot-desking and meeting environments, plus a customer innovation centre where Flooid personnel can demonstrate our capabilities to visitors.

The office opened to employees the week of May 13th. On May 14th, Flooid’s EMEA employees were invited to attend an office tour and ribbon cutting ceremony led by Flooid’s EMEA CEO Martyn Osborne and senior leaders from Flooid’s parent company, Glory Global Solutions.

Martyn and Glory Global Solutions’ CEO, Toshi Yoshinari, laid out future plans for the company, followed by the official ribbon cutting ceremony, an all hands lunch and a detailed walkthrough of the Innovation Centre and solution demos.

Elaine Warwick, HR Co-ordinator, said, “We have had a brilliant reaction to the new office. Everyone is feeling quite amazed — their first impressions have been great.

“In an age of hybrid work it’s really important to give employees reasons to want to come into the office. Having a fresh environment for collaboration raises the bar and incentivises people to come in.”

Josh Matthews, Project Manager, who worked as part of a team managing the move from the former office in Coventry to Birmingham, said, “I’ve been impressed with the space since the first time I saw it. Everyone thinks it’s a massive step up.”

“We needed somewhere bright and creative that reflected the hard work of our employees and the company we are now — this office delivers that.”

Paul Lynch, Head of Quality Engineering, showed colleagues his new testing facility and his baking skills with a walnut cake drizzled in maple and bourbon frosting.

He said, “I just wanted to bake something out of appreciation for the new office. We have a fantastic test lab now; a very clean, almost clinical space.”

Flooid’s team are now working in a hybrid pattern using the Ingenuity House space, with partners and customers coming in to see the new facility and discuss joint innovation with Flooid subject matter experts.

“We needed a high-quality, high-energy space that encourages innovation, creativity, and teamwork. Ingenuity House gives us those attributes, and will no doubt play a fundamental role in our future success as a company,” Martyn said.
