Tell me what you do for Flooid. What is your title? What is your day to day like?
I am the Product Marketing Manager at Flooid. Since joining the company in early 2022, my focus has been to build processes and structure in Marketing that allow for collaboration and communication between Sales, Marketing and Product. I am also responsible for working with external marketing and content creation partners and internal creatives to develop valuable communications, marketing campaigns and events which promote our products and grow the Flooid brand in the retail space.
Why did you choose to work for Flooid? How long have you been with the company?
When looking for my “forever job” I had a list of items I knew I hoped to find but may not actually exist in one place: 1) flexible work schedule, 2) work from home, 3) great pay and benefits, 4) incredible colleagues and work culture, at a 5) respected and successful company. Incredibly, Flooid hit all the marks! The fact that Flooid is a global leader in retail technology was icing on the cake.
How is Flooid helping you to advance in your career?
There is room to grow at Flooid. I have worked in other companies where I lived in fear of “stepping on someone elses’ toes,” but at Flooid you are encouraged to learn as much as you can and bring your expertise and experience to the table. My world has been opened to some of the world’s major retail and technology players. Flooid’s customers are globally recognized powerhouse retail brands and I have had also the opportunity to work with top technology technology partners like Google, Intel, and Microsoft.
Why do you choose to stay with Flooid? What is one or two of the most important things that Flooid allows you to do?
I absolutely LOVE working from home and the fact that I have meetings with my UK colleagues in the morning and then US colleagues in the afternoon is just…well, cool. Also, Flooid is one of the most innovative technology companies I have ever had the opportunity to work with. It sounds cliché to say we think outside the box, but that is literally what we do at Flooid. Most of our competitors deliver end-to-end retail solutions that come packaged right out of the box. Flooid takes a much more agile, flexible forward-thinking approach to our platform. It is exciting working with our Product team to see how they create solutions for the future of retail and think about what could be not about what is.
If you were having a conversation with a colleague about why they should come to work for Flooid, what would you tell them?
I would tell a colleague working for Flooid is engaging, exciting and rewarding. Every day is different and brings a unique challenge. The people who work for Flooid are genuine, friendly and flat-out brilliant! I am in awe of the experience, retail knowledge and company tenure of the majority of Flooid’s employees. Like its approach to Product development, Flooid is not rigid and set in its ways. It doesn’t feel cold and unfeeling. Flooid feels like a place where the possibilities are endless if you are willing and capable of living outside the box.
